For 4 years, we saw a number of spectacles from the Trump administration as they hosted “infrastructure week.”

In spite of Democratic support, Trump failed to deliver even during the first two years of his presidency when Republicans controlled the House and Senate.

In fact, in May of 2019, Trump secured Democratic support for a whopping $2 Trillion infrastructure plan. But as usual, he put himself before the country and refused to move forward unless Congress stopped all investigations of him and his administration.

The New York Times reported that in April 2019, “Democratic congressional leaders emerged afterward and said that Mr. Trump had agreed to pursue a $2 trillion infrastructure plan to upgrade the nation’s highways, railroads, bridges and broadband. They planned to reconvene in three weeks to discuss how to pay for it.”

When they reconvened, “Mr. Trump abruptly ended a follow-up meeting with Democrats in May, declaring that he would not work with them until they stopped investigating him.”

Now, we have an infrastructure bill that has cleared the Senate with bipartisan support.

Which Republican Senators voted for the infrastructure bill?

The following Republican Senators voted in favor of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Acts:

Roy Blunt of Missouri, Richard Burr of North Carolina, Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, Shelley Moore Capito of West Virginia, Susan Collins of Maine, Kevin Cramer of North Dakota, Mike Crapo of Idaho, Deb Fischer of Nebraska, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, Chuck Grassley of Iowa, John Hoeven of North Dakota, Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Rob Portman of Ohio, Jim Risch of Idaho, Mitt Romney of Utah, Dan Sullivan of Alaska, Thom Tillis of North Carolina, and Roger Wicker of Mississippi.

The House of Representatives will take action on the bill this Fall. President Biden has signaled that he is eager to sign it into law.
